Katz und Maus

A completely new view, for a long time on my wishlist, and this day I finally got there. Clouds and sun were playing games, but I was able to make some nice sunny shots with the town of Sankt-Goarshausen in the background. This spot can easily be reached on foot. Just beware when parking the car during tourist season: the parkings at the Loreley site … Continue reading Katz und Maus

Flandersbach timetables

During my last visit to the Ruhrgebiet, I discoverd the Angertalbahn. I found it a rather busy line, and it seems that impression was correct: meanwhile I’ve gotten the theoretical timetables for trains on this branch line. It turns out there are enough trains to keep stay busy all day on this line alone. Enjoy the information! For that purpose the classic international … Continue reading Last time in style to Switzerland

A railfan’s dream house

Considering this is one of the busiest freight lines in Germany, you can understand why inhabitants of the villages are complaining about noise. Let’s hope authorities … Continue reading A railfan’s dream house

The green heart of industry

With the end of the day approaching, my two very kind photo-colleagues took me to a spot in Bösinghoven. The wide open plain allowing for long light, and making you basically forget you’re in the heart of Germany’s heavy industry. We saw more NordWestBahn Lint41 motorcars, a Talent 2 electric unit operated by National Express, and one freight train. Someone forgot to put containers on … Continue reading The green heart of industry
