Next I was expecting a TER to Lille, possibly pushed or hauled by a BB 22200 loco. I found a spot near Escadoeuvres where the embankment was freshly cut, offering many possibilities. Trains need quite some time to overcome the height difference from the higher mountains towards the port of Koper. This can give you just enough time to commute between well chosen spots, so that you can make photos of trains in 2 directions at two totally different locations. In this case: Podpec and Bezovica. On top of the cliff around noon, early afternoon, you have a great view on the rail line carving it’s way around that same cliff, and through it. The Koper railway refers to the single track rail line connecting the port of Koper with Divača and leading further into Slovenia.
