New trains on old crossings

On Sunday, right before starting the long way home, I spent some time in Güterglück. I was hoping that the name of the town suggested something about the train traffic. Waking up the sleeping valley

A Swiss engine on its way from the Czech Republic towards Dreseden, seems a bit odd. It turns out the loco is rented out to HSL, an operator that comes here more often. Skoda rules

Siemens electrics have in the meanwhile taken over the traction of the Eurocity trains between Germany and the Czech republic – in september 2016 they were still all hauled by Skoda’s. Straight to the Great Salt Lake

Up to the next memorable photo moments. After a doughnut stop close to Salt Lake City, we headed towards the Great Salt Lake. The last part of the journey was a more than 20km long road straight through the dry wilderness. We met no living soul on the road and silence was extraordinary.
